How to prove to a woman you’re nothing but a wimp. PDF Print E-mail
Written by John Alanis

Does she think that you are a wimp?

Hey guys,

The more technologically advanced we get, the farther men get away
from the act of actually talking to a woman face to face and
creating attraction with her.  There was a time when the only
option you had was to call a woman.  Then you could email or call.
Now you can send a short text message, and usually get a two letter
one in return—"NO."

I received an excellent question from a man today regarding online
dating, and a feature they have called a "wink," a feature that is
probably the furthest thing from face to face conversation yet
invented, a feature designed especially for wimps.

A whole new approach to dating, women, and relationships that
allows me to choose my own relationships with women, anytime,
anyplace, anywhere, devoid of all heartbreak or misery, and I’m
convinced any man can copy what I’m doing, no matter your looks,
age, or income.  Why would any sane man reveal these secrets if
they were true?  To discover the answer go to

Hey John,

I bought your e-book about online dating and profile writing some
time ago John and it has been very helpful with Match.com recently.
You haven’t commented about online dating for awhile so my
question may be timely.  Your advice has helped me attract messages
and ‘winks’ from women.  For some fun, I showed a lady friend my
profile and she watched as I viewed profiles.  She also told me to
‘wink’ at a lady rather than simply emailing her first.

Now, I remember an exchange you had John with a woman about ‘winks’
and that they are unattractive.  My lady friend insists however
that introducing myself to a lady with email first and commenting
on details from her profile is far too strong an approach.  I
compromised with my lady friend playfully and ‘winked’ at someone
who got my eye.  I agreed to do so to be playful about it.  I have
enjoyed your views and material about personal authority so please
reply and opine about ‘winks’ and if they are attractive displays
of authority or not?

JA:  Thanks for the email, Eric.  Your lady friend is telling you
what she thinks should work, not what really does work.  This is
akin to a woman saying "I just want to meet a nice guy" then
chasing off after the next jerk to come around.   What she’s really
saying is, "I want to make a man who makes me feel a wonderful
sense of attraction and treats me decently without killing the
attraction."

On to your question about "winks."  For those who don’t know a
"wink" is a feature on online dating sites that let you signal
you’re interested in a woman without actually writing her.

I hate "winks" and the whole idea of them.  What it says to a woman
is you’re too damn lazy to read her profile, then comment on it.
Think about it in person.  If you see an attractive woman, what’s
the best shot you have of spending time with her—winking at her and
hoping she likes you, or manning up and talking to her?

Forget the wink function even exists.  What guys do is they choose
50 or so attractive women and send a wink or a one line email to
all of them.  If you do that, you’re Just Another Guy (a JAG) and
God knows women have enough of them in your life.

Forget about winks.  Do the things that get you to a face to face,
in person meeting the fastest.  Last time I checked, you actually
had to meet a woman in person in order to have a good time with
her.  But, alas, that probably will be changing in the near future
soon.

On with the fun….
