Ha! Exactly why I tell anyone that listens to put your computer in the kitchen or living room where you can see what your little darlings are up to, if you have young children that use a computer. And it's not their fault; it's a big, exciting world to them. Predators on the other hand, have learned the value of the WWW.
Do not care that a computer in the kitchen looks messy, children's safety is far too important.

I agree with Bikerhen. If anyone has children that use the internet, they should put their computer in a family space where their online activities can be monitored. So many of the bad things that happen to children could be prevented if their parents knew what they were doing online. Ask to see their myspace page every week; so many parents don't even know what their kids have posted in their profile.

My daughter is still too young for the computer, but the day will come sooner than I imagine. Right now my computer is in the living room so I can keep an eye on her while I'm working or playing. I imagine that is where it will stay when she starts wanting to use it too. They teach them much earlier in school than they used to. I intend to keep a very close eye on her online activities. Good points, Bikerhen and Belle about child safety.

My children are too young to use the computer as well, but I have seen shows on television where the parents had no idea what their children were doing on the internet. One girl that was about 11 years old had some pictures of herself on her myspace page that were a little provactive, especially for a girl her age. It's funny how much times have changed; kids learn a lot of things much earlier than they did when I was that age.
