That may be pretty spectacular alright and for those with money to burn, flying to Paris for lunch sounds pretty exciting. However there are other ways to have a spectacular date. Sometimes doing something real simple works just as well. A stroll along a riverbank, sharing a favourite place with a picnic and bottle of wine. Going to some kind of festival or activity which your date is interested in, be it artsy, or crafty, or multi-cultural with lots of food to be sampled. There's lots of things ordinary people could do. Anybody have other ideas for simple dates?

One of my best dates was when we both took our young kids to a park for an afternoon of playing. The kids played on the play structure, we supervised, drank coffee and talked. We ended up making supper together and it was a pretty spectacular first date. It honestly doesn't have to be fancy or expensive or elaborate. Two people being themselves and being nice to each other can be pretty nice. And yes, we saw each other for awhile.

I agree with Bikerhen and Soulmateless; often the simple dates are the best. I particularly like the picnic and bottle of wine idea. One of my best dates was drinking margaritas and watching the sunset over the ocean. Besides, if you spend lots of money to have these fabulous dates, everything else will pale in comparison. Can you afford for every date to be this way? Or maybe she will come to expect it.
